Branding

Cowry is a P2P transfer platform and a wallet for financial management. The focus of the service is a community of people: expats, digital nomads, travellers and anyone who wishes to move money without borders. The platform focuses on people and their needs rather than complex technology. We have developed the branding, tagline and design mobile app for iOS and Android.

The shape of a circle is the basis of the visual brand language. The symbol has two meanings at once: it symbolises both a movement of digital coins and a community of people since the platform allows users to gather together to conduct large transactions.

The brand's platform declares brightness and determination. The product team has bold plans - the company aims to create a full-fledged FinTech ecosystem. When searching for the description of the brand nature the platform has chosen the most interpretative message: Cowry is a natural environment for the money movement. The laconic tagline reflects this idea – Money Moving.

To emphasise the idea of money movement we have used dynamic graphics. It is easily scalable: digital coins are flying from layout to layout, changing scale, quantity and behaviour. Product illustrations inherit the techniques of graphics - coloured shades and lack of explicit volume.

We have chosen energetic red to proclaim company plans for leadership. Red is a traditional colour for the top players in the market. However, we have decided not to limit ourselves to one colour but to grab the whole spectrum.

Such a palette can be associated with something tender, even a gummy bear. We have counterbalanced it with the ONY Byte font – brutal, with its character.

The service cares for users: the interface details are intuitive, and interaction with the tools does not require extra effort.
