Verdi team has approached us for the redesign and development of an online shop. The key element of the project was to create a unique design code for the digital space. It had to be associated exclusively with the brand and set it apart from its competitors.
The development of the design concept has begun with the search for a metaphor. We have imagined ourselves in the customer's shoes and thought about what they see when approaching the boutique. So, we have identified the key particularity of perception at the beginning of acquaintance with the products. This particularity is the glass of the shop window. To see the products, one looks through this glass.
The homepage cover features a storefront design, allowing users to discover the new collection at a glance. Thanks to the seamless transition, the process is quick and simple. The storefront structure is flexible, just as a customer combines things in his or her image. Yet its main purpose is to present the product in a way that you want to look at it closely, choose it and then buy it.
We have developed two types of card display in the catalogue: basic and advanced. This feature enables placing more products on the screen without loss of functionality.
Over 80% of users use the mobile version of the website to purchase products, so it was crucial to make the responsive design user-friendly and functional.
A quick product preview allows customers to find out details without leaving the page. We have kept such features as the opportunity to view product characteristics, add to the basket and favourites. In addition, we have introduced seamless browsing to increase engagement and sales.
We have updated the brands page — there are over 200 of them on the website. Now users can add their favourite brands to their favourites for quick access to the appropriate catalogue.
We have introduced the purchase of electronic and physical certificates. Flexible personalisation for promotions and holidays makes them more convenient for business and reduces production costs. We chose Bitrix as our core stack. Verdi's team manages the site independently with an in-house development team. So, the ability to make changes effortlessly and easily manage the visual components of the site – changing headings in menus, footer, and cards – was essential. The frontend and backend can be administered independently, making support and development of the project in the future much easier.
